See and experience

Kuuskajaskari holiday and fortress island offers visitors both maritime experiences and the peace of the forests.

The former military fortress island still has a strong feel of the military past. There are many interesting military attractions, such as four coastal cannons (model 152/50 T) one of which is still functional. A guide can introduce the cannon caves and how the cannon operates. There are also two surveillance towers, many trenches, shooting ranges, and other necessities of a former fortress.

Today the island serves as a tourist attraction. The island offers restaurant and café services, meeting facilities and saunas. Kuuskajaskari trail introduces the history and the geology of the island. Guided tours are available as well. As one of the biggest islands in the Rauma archipelago, Kuuskajaskari is also an excellent destination for groups.

In the summer, water buses run daily to Kuuskajaskari. The duration of the water bus journey is 30 minutes. A leisure harbour with 40 boat places serves the boating visitors.
