Rauma has several public beaches, a swimming hall as well as outdoor swimming pool in summer time. During the summer, there are several public lakeside saunas available in the Rauma area. You can enjoy sauna and take a dip in natural waters in Rauma in the winter as well.

Winter swimming

In Rauma, you can go winter swimming in both the sea and the lake.

Lappi beach, Narvijärvi

Lappi Beach, located on the shore of Lake Narvijärvi, can be found at Ruonantie 319, Lappi. The beach has a public sauna called Puusauna (puusaun.com), which is open all year round. There is a café next to the sauna. During the winter season, ice swimming is possible at the sauna. Puusauna has two separate saunas, with separate changing and shower facilities for men and women. There is a parking lot next to the sauna and along Ruonantie. There is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Marine Café & Sauna

A public sauna located by the sea in Petäjäs is open during the winter season. The sauna’s address is Kompintie 7. There are separate changing and shower facilities for men and women, as well as one common sauna. You can access the sea for ice swimming from the pier. The café next to the sauna serves weekday lunches and a variety of savory and sweet snacks, as well as refreshments. Learn more on the Marine Café & Sauna website.

Rauma Swimming Hall

Rauma swimming hall has fitness swimming tracks, a diving pool, a large warm water pool with a water slide, a children’s pool, two hot tubs and a café. Check out the swimming hall’s opening hours, prices and other information (in Finnish). The swimming hall is closed in summer.

Swimming hall is located at Hankkarintie 8.

A new swimming hall is being built in Rauma. It is scheduled to open for public at the end of 2024.

Beaches

There are four common EU beaches in Rauma.

Saharanta Beach

Saharanta beach in Syväraumanlahti bay.

Saharanta Beach is located next to the Syvärauma marina by the sea at Purjehtijankatu 26.

The sandy beach has a gently deepening beach with a good sandy bottom. The beach has toilets and a dressing room. The car park is right next to the beach. There is no supervision on the beach.

Bergström Pond

Bergström Pond is located next to the Kourujärvi sports area at Monnankatu 32.

The pond is abruptly deep and its bottom is mud-sand. For children, the beach has a shallow swimming area separated by buoys. The beach has toilets, changing rooms, trash cans, playground equipment and a pier. Parking is available on both Monnankatu and Lännentie. There is no swimming supervision on the beach.

Otanlahti Beach

Otanlahti Beach is located in the Fåfänga leisure area at Suvitie 2. Next to the beach are Poroholma Resort and an outdoor swimming pool. The bay is shallow and sandy. The beach has changing rooms, toilets, showers and rubbish bins. There are several parking areas near the beach along Suvitie street. There is no swimming supervision on the beach.

Lappi beach

Lappi beach, located at Lake Narvijärvi, can be found at Ruonantie 319, Lappi. The beach is gently deepening. Sandy bottom, with some vegetation. The beach has a pier, jumping pontoon, changing rooms, toilet, trash cans and playground equipment. The beach also has a public beach sauna Puusaun (puusaun.com), which is open all year round. There is a café next to the beach sauna. During the winter season, open-air swimming is organized in the beach sauna. The beach has a parking lot next to the beach sauna and along Ruonantie. There is no swimming supervision on the beach.

Outdoor swimming pool

Outdoor pool in Rauma.

Rauma’s outdoor swimming pool on the shore of Otanlahti (Suvitie) is open during the summer season. Swimming supervisors are on site daily according to opening hours.

The water in the pool is heated 26 degree fresh water. The changing rooms and shower and toilet facilities connected to the service building are available to all beach users. You will find also minigolf from the area.
