Rauma has a wide range of guided tours to explore the fascinating world of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Guided tours are generally outdoors, so safety distances can be taken care of.

Old Rauma walking tour

Old Rauma has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List for 30 years. The unique wooden area of Old Rauma is a wonderful mixture of history and modern life. The area is best explored with a guided walking tour. The guide leads the group to the narrow and meandering streets, telling about the life of this culturally historically valuable area. The tour takes you to the home corners of sailors and artisans.

Guided 1,5 h walking tours of Old Rauma will be organized on Sundays from 4 July to 29 August 2021. Bilingual (Finnish/English) tour starts at 11.30 in front of the Old Town Hall Museum (Kauppakatu 13) in Old Rauma.

The ticket price is 10 € / person (children under 15 free of charge). The ticket must be purchased in advance from the online shop (doerz.com) or from Old Town Hall museum shop (Kauppakatu 13).

Guided tour in Sammallahdenmäki and bus transportation from city centre

Sammallahdenmäki was chosen for the UNESCO World Heritage list as the first archaelogical site in Finland. The guide leads the group along a path to this burial site remaining from the Bronze Age. The area covering almost a kilometre contains 36 burial cairns of different shapes and sizes, the most famous of them being Kirkonlaattia, the Church Floor, and the long cairn of Huilu. Stories and tales brighten up the tour. Sammallahdenmäki is located in the middle of beautiful Finnish forest.

Guided walking tours in Sammallahdenmäki will be organized on Thursdays from 1 July to 26 August 2021. The tour includes also a bus transportation from city centre of Rauma to Sammallahdenmäki and back, and a guided walking tour (about 1 h) in Sammallahdenmäki. Guided walking tour is bilingual (Finnish/English).

Departure at 14.00 by bus from Rauma bus station (charter bus stop, Tallikedonkatu 13) to Sammallahdenmäki and return to the same place at 16.15 at latest.
