Several residents of Old Rauma will open their yards to the visitors during Lace Week. The residents will hold yard sales or allow visitors to explore their yards and the livelihood in Old Rauma.
Yards open for visitors can be identified on the spot by the logo of the Old Rauma Association.
Note! The yards are open according to the resident’s schedule, usually starting at 10.00.

In music school, participants explore various summer phenomena through singing, moving, and playing instruments. Weather permitting, music is played in the museum’s atmospheric courtyard; in case of rain, the session takes place indoors. The session is taught by Salla Hirvilammi from Musasoppi music school. The session duration is approx. 30 minutes.

During Lace Week you have an opportunity to see Rauma bobbin lace being made daily at Marela and Kirsti. At Marela, the lace-maker is indoors. At Kirsti, on clear days, the lace-maker is in the courtyard, where you can visit free of charge. Otherwise there is admission fee.

Learn to make a keychain by knotting! The workshop is suitable for adults and children over 10 years old. The workshop runs on a non-stop basis, so you can come at any time during the workshop. The workshop can accommodate 5 people at a time. Making a keychain takes 0,5 – 1 hour.

The sea offers a variety of jobs, and at the orienteering checkpoints, five maritime professions are presented: pilot, fisherman, chief engineer, ship cook, and captain. The guide booklet explains the professions, and at the checkpoints, playful tasks are carried out that in some way relate to the profession shown.
Orienteering is included in the admission fee of 5 €. Children under 12 for free with an adult.

12.00 Midday music moment – Let’s sing hymns!
In 2026, the 40th anniversary of the current hymnal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland will be celebrated, and in its honor, several communal singing events will be organized across Finland. Come participate and sing! The cantors of the Rauma parish, Leena Kivi and Katriina Karvinen, will be present.

🐞 12.30 Hobby horse cavalcade and show jumping competition
Meeting at the Tammela yard 12.30. Departure of the cavalcade at 13.00. Showjumping competition at the inner yard of the Church of the Holy Cross after registration.
Participation fee 3 €/horse-rider. No advance registration required.
The competition starts at 13.30. The competition has four classes:
Class I: 20cm, 3–5 years.
Class II: 30cm, 6–8 years.
Class III: 50cm, 9–13 years.
Class IV: 60cm, Open to all.

🐞14.00 The mystery of Old Rauma – an interactive tour for children
One day, something strange happened in Old Rauma. To solve the mystery, clever young detectives are needed! Using clues gathered during the tour, they’ll work to find out who is responsible. Could the mischievous lace town elves be behind it all? The story is fictional, but during the guided tour participants will also explore the charming details of Old Rauma and learn a little about its history and present day.
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and covers about 1 km.
The tour is designed for children aged approximately 4–11, but everyone is welcome to join. Maximum group size is 30 participants. Children cannot participate alone, each child must be accompanied by their own adult.

15.00 SAKKO: Drainage basin
A work combining contemporary dance and installation art about power and water. The water flowing in the drainage basin comes mainly from rain, but also includes meltwater from the previous winter, water from melting glaciers, and springs formed from groundwater.
The installation is open to the public at 12.00–18.00. As part of the work, performances are held daily at 15.00, lasting approximately 30 min.
The artwork is being created by the artist duo Alina and Elisa Sakko.

This combination of a dramatized mini-concert and a museum tour invites you on a musical adventure. “Meriltä” weaves together local maritime history with the folk music of the surrounding regions. The performance by Rauma-born actress Venla Wallenius and folk musicians Veera Katila and Janeta Österberg.

18.00 Dance artist Noora Juppi: Radicalis 1.0 – Greenhouse phenomenon
Visitors of Rauma Lace Week will encounter the Radicalis 1.0 outdoor artwork at the Tarvontori site. The performance is built around a freestanding pole dance pole and a greenhouse-like tent. Inside the tent, the performer transforms into plant-like and earthy conditions, challenging the logic of gravity.
Behind the work is pole dance artist Noora Juppi, who will be working during July at the Western Dance Regional Center’s residency in the RaumArs Art House. During the residency period, Juppi will work on her Radicalis project in Rauma, which combines pole dance, contemporary dance, and Japanese butoh dance in a site-specific environment. During July, the artist can be seen in the urban space, and passersby can follow the formation of the work as part of the daily landscape and the rhythm of the city! The residency period is carried out in collaboration with the City of Rauma.
