Alfred Kordelin Chapel

The Kordelin Chapel in Rauma’s old cemetery was built and donated to the parish by Alfred Kordelin’s family. The grave and monument of Alfred Kordelin, a farming councillor, is in the basement of the chapel. The chapel was designed by architect Lars Sonck and completed in 1921.

Blacksmith’s home
Open during Lace Week 12.00–16.00
Blacksmith’s home is the former residence of the blacksmith Isak Grundström (1842–1921) and his family. A wide range of artefacts are on display, from musical instruments hanging on the wall of the barn to household items and craft supplies.

Kiikartorni observation tower
Open during the Lace Week 10.00–21.00
Head to the shore of Syväraumanlahti and explore the area from above! The lookout tower called Kiikartorni offers stunning views of the sea and the small boat harbor of Syväraumanlahti.

Lappi Regional Museum
Open during Lace Week on Sundays 19.7. and 26.7. 10.00–15.00
The Rauma Lappi Regional Museum is located in Museomäki and consists of several historical sites, such as a storehouse, church stables, Jokinen house and Eskelä fence. The museum’s collection includes a wide range of cultural heritage, for exaple agricultural equipment, household goods and wartime items. The museum also has a café open.

Lappi Church

Lappi Church in Rauma is one of the oldest wooden churches in Satakunta. It was completed in 1760. The belfry was built together with the church on the edge of the cemetery’s stone fence, but was moved to a hill in the early 19th century.

Lönnström Art Museum: Teresia and Rafael Lönnström’s Home museum

The atmospheric home museum of the industrialist couple Teresia and Rafael Lönnström combines the elegance and cosiness of a stately home. The home was completed in 1942 in the maritime landscape of Syväraumanlahti. The museum displays Teresia Lönnström’s art collection as well as domestic objects such as a dressing table.
The Home Museum’s temporary exhibition, Villa Lönnström: The Story of a Building, traces the history of Villa Lönnström, which was built as the home of an industrialist couple.

Lönnström Art Museum Projects
Conversation park is a public space game is a work of community art that was created by 21 Rauma residents of different ages. In the project, they planned and built a public park. Conversation park is a public space that everyone is free to visit. Enjoy the scenery, have a barbeque around an open fire or participate in a hobby horse race. Kalliokatu 28–30
Floating Island. Raimo Saarinen’s large environmental artwork sited at sea. Floating Island is anchored in the Otanlahti bay. The work can be viewed from many places along the bay and its beaches, and is closest to the shore between the Fåfänga Pavilion and Merikylpylä saunas. Suvitie 4

Sailor’s home Kirsti

Kirsti is a home museum for sailors and craftsmen, showcasing life in Old Rauma from the late 19th century to the 1970s. The main building in the atmospheric courtyard is one of the oldest buildings in Old Rauma. It was built as early as the 1700s. The whole town of Rauma in the early 19th century looked like Kirsti does today.

Shipowner’s home Marela
Open during Lace Week 10.00–17.00, Fri 24.7. 10.00–19.00
Marela presents the living and lifestyle of a wealthy Rauma shipowner family during the heyday of Rauma’s sailing ship maritime in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Temporary exhibitions
– The Story of Rauma Lace tells the story of Rauma’s lace-making history and the present day.
– The exhibition Let’s Have a Wedding! presents wedding memories, traditions and treasures from the museum’s collections.
–The Gentlemen’s amusements exhibition presents the cultural history of tobacco.
Opportunity to see lace-making daily 10.00-17.00. From the Museum Shop Kistupuadi, you can find local handicrafts and souvenirs.

Merimakasiini
Open during Lace Week

Merimakasiini showcases traditional boats from Rauma, artifacts from the archipelago and the harbor, and the cabin of the schooner Ihana, built in 1874. Seamen’s handicrafts, such as rope mats and bottle boats, are available for purchase.
The entrance fee to the exhibition space Paathuone is 5 €, children under 12 for free.
The facility is fully accessible. There is a small step at the entrance and ramps inside. The building has an elevator.

Muina Homestead Museum

At the Muina Homestead Museum, you can experience the atmosphere of a peasant’s farmyard in a genuine rural setting. The museum has a maritime themed exhibition where you can visit.

Potter’s Workshop
Open during Lace Week 11.00–15.00
At the workshop of potter Gustaf Löfman you can learn about the pottery tradition in Rauma. Löfman’s workshop was in operation from the end of the 19th century until the 1930s. The workshop produced brown oven coils, vats and small decorative objects. The rooms in the Savenvalaja dwelling are decorated in the style of the first half of the 20th century.

Rauma Art Museum

Main exhibition – The Heart of Pinnala
Upstairs at the Rauma Art Museum, at the heart of Pinnala, Rauma Art museum have compiled a selection of highlights from the museum’s art collection. A selection of 68 works by 68 artists has been chosen from a collection of about 3,500 works.
Temporary exhibition – Paavo Paunu: Seven Seas and Eight Tears
Paavo Paunu is a painter and sculptor whose works transcend the boundaries between different media. The exhibition at the Rauma Art Museum presents works from the 1990s to the present day, including new pieces.

The museum is not fully accessible. The first-floor exhibition space is accessible and can be entered with the wheelchair lift.

Rauma Maritime Museum

The Rauma Maritime Museum is a special museum that tells the story of a medieval town’s lifeblood: the sea and shipping. The permanent exhibition displays not only the ships, stories and atmosphere of the sailing ship era, but also the lifestyle of seamen during that time.

Rauma Seminar Garden
Garden is open 24/7
The greenhouses are open Mon – Fri at 8.00–14.00
The park area of the seminary garden is diverse. The area also includes display areas of summer flowers and useful plants, as well as school children’s farming area.
You can go on hikes in the garden area; study plants, watch birds or even have a picnic.

Renovation Centre Tammela
Open during Lace Week 11.00–17.00, closed on Mondays
Tammela house introduces UNESCO World Heritage and renovation of Old Rauma. Tammela organises events regarding world heritage and traditional construction, and houses different cultural events. A bank of spare parts, where spare parts for old timber buildings are recycled, is a part of the house of Tammela.

Sammallahdenmäki, UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Bronze Age burial cairn field in Lappi Kivikylä, is the largest and most diverse cemetery of the Scandinavian Bronze Age in the coastal area of the Gulf of Bothnia. The area contains 36 burial cairns and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.
The site is not accessible. The ground is difficult to walk.

The Church of the Holy Cross

The Church of the Holy Cross is a medieval stone church, the oldest parts of which date back to the 16th century. What makes the stone church in the World Heritage Site so special is that it is the only one of the three remaining Franciscan churches in Finland. The church is full of history, and you can stop by for a moment of silence and exploration while it is open.
A guide is available during the church’s opening hours. Midday music moments at 12.00.

The Old Rauma Telephone Museum

The museum tells the history of telephones with its collection from its origins in the 1870s to the present day. The museum displays devices and equipment from 1870 to the present day.

Ylen Art House
Open during Lace Week 12.00–16.00
Art House Ylen is located in Rauma, in a village called Kodisjoki. This art house was the residence of ITE-artist Väinö (1908-2000) Ylen and his wife Hilma (1911-1991). Väinö worked as a bricklayer and a farmer but after his retirement he began making cement sculptures. The sculptures are mainly depicting people and animals – characters in their everyday life. ITE-art is Finnish contemporary folk art.
The guest artists for Summer 2026 are Katriina Heikola and Seija Halvari. In addition, the exhibition features works by young artists, and the an exhibition of Väinö and Hilma’s costumes. There will also be a café.
