All lace makers are welcome to come and lace their own works at the event. The Lace Center Emelia offers coffee and buns for the lace makers participating in the event.

24.7. 14.30 Lace making competition
In the traditional Bobbin Lace Making competition, participants lace for the usual half hour using six pairs of Udd bobbins. You can bring your own pillow or borrow a pillow at the event. Borrowed pillows are available in limited numbers. Mynster can be obtained for your own pillow at the competition venue. Competitors are requested to arrive about half an hour before the start of the competition. Pre-registration by email to sihteeri@emelia.fi is recommended. If possible, participation without registration is also allowed.

Rauma lace is not just history – it is a living skill and art. At lace-making demonstrations you can see with your own eyes how the tradition continues in the hands of skilled lacemakers.

City of Rauma museums: The Story of Rauma Lace -exhibition
Open during Lace Week daily 10.00–17.00, except Fri 25.7. 10.00–19.00
The exhibition shows what kind of lace was made in Rauma at different times, who made lace and the importance of lace making as a profession. The exhibition features lace makers’ lace pattern books, excerpts from the museum’s extensive collection of Rauma lace samples, photographs and stories of master lace makers from different times. It also features the tools that are essential to lace making and their local manufacturers.
Admission fee 10,50/7,50 €, children under 18 for free.

Rauma lace demonstrations at Marela and Kirsti
Open during Lace Week daily 10.00–17.00, except Fri 25.7. 10.00–19.00
Rauma lace has a long history, and these lace-making demonstrations show skilled lacemakers continuing the tradition. At Marela, lacemakers work indoors, and at Kirsti, lacemakers work outdoors on sunny days and on rainy days indoors.
Admission fee 10,50/7,50 €, children under 18 for free.

Lace shop sells ready-made lace products, lace patterns and lace making supplies. A lace maker is on site during opening hours. You can try lace making yourself at the pop-up tent.
