Several residents of Old Rauma will open their yards to the visitors during Lace Week. The residents will hold yard sales or allow visitors to explore their yards and the livelihood in Old Rauma.
Yards open for visitors can be identified on the spot by the logo of the Old Rauma Association.

Kosti has been seen going into the art museum’s courtyard, but not since. Your task is to put the clues together and find where Kosti the Fox is hiding! The hunt begins from Rauma Art Museum Shop Pinnala. Once you have found Kosti’s location, you can get a sweet prize from the shop!
The treasure hunt is self-guided and free of charge.

During Lace Week you have an opportunity to see Rauma bobbin lace being made daily at Marela and Kirsti. At Marela, the lace-maker is indoors. At Kirsti, on clear days, the lace-maker is in the courtyard, where you can visit free of charge. Otherwise there is admission fee.

The UNESCO World Heritage Site Sammallahdenmäki is a Bronze Age burial site set amidst beautiful forest nature. Along the trail that winds through the area, there are 36 different burial cairns. Duration approximately 1,5 hours and is 2 kilometers long.
Note! Prepare according to weather conditions and with good shoes. The site is not accessible and the terrain can be rough to walk on at times.

🐞11.00 Theatre Konna: Hyvää huomenta, Apo Apponen! at Savilanpuisto stage (FIN)
It is just an ordinary morning in the life of Apo Apponen. Half-asleep, Apo bumps into an increasingly funny cast of characters such as Kaaro Puttila and Sinikka, the replacement head of an electric toothbrush. Apo also has to sort out his relationship with the long-hated shirt.
The events of the performance stem from the everyday life of a family with children, as Apo’s activities and bustle are familiar to all children. This slightly stand-up style performance is a tickling experience for the funny bone, for example, for preschool-aged children and younger elementary school students.

Learn to tie a friendship bracelet! The workshop is suitable for adults and children over 10 years old. The workshop operates on a non-stop basis, meaning you can come at any time during the workshop. The workshop can accommodate 5 people at a time. Making the bracelet takes about 1 hour.

The sea offers a variety of jobs, and at the orienteering checkpoints, five maritime professions are presented: pilot, fisherman, chief engineer, ship cook, and captain. The guide booklet explains the professions, and at the checkpoints, playful tasks are carried out that in some way relate to the profession shown.
Orienteering is included in the admission fee of 5 €, children under 12 for free with an adult.

During Lace Week, children can pick up an activity sheet at the museum’s front desk. Valo the sailor guides families to various learning points marked on a map. At these stations, children can try out, touch, draw, create, play, and explore. Along the way, they’ll dive into Valo’s life and work aboard a sailing ship. The activity sheet is available in both Finnish and English.

The traditional café of the Rauma Martha Association, where you can enjoy Rauma’s traditional foods such as lapskoussi, pankakko and topselivellinki.
From 12.00 onwards, the exhibition of Martha’s hobby works at the Parish Hall. The exhibition features various handicrafts made from different materials. Handmade accessories and utility items for sale. Raffle tickets for sale all week. Crafting station for both adults and children.

The event opens with a family-friendly mini-play, The Growling Rabbit . The play is non-verbal, making it perfect for international visitors and the hearing impaired.
After the play, meet Luna and Rebecca, the newest llama residents of Old Rauma. The event also features Kyllikki Salo’s art installation Me Too and a courtyard flea market. Refreshments and llama-themed cookies will be available for purchase. Duration of the event approximately 1 hour.

Ahoy there! A tour for sailors and adventurers on dry land in the streets of Old Rauma. The sea sparkles, ship masts loom on the horizon, nets are being mended in the yards, but not everything is as it should be. A timber load is missing, and something else too. Children can look for clues and find maritime objects and stories, while also learning about real historical facts during the tour. A guided tour is for children aged 4-10. A child must be accompanied by an adult. One adult can accompany several children

🐞14.00 Old Rauma Ghost Tour for children (FIN)
Welcome to a child-friendly Ghost Tour of Old Rauma, where you’ll hear thrilling ghost stories! Finland’s third oldest town, with centuries-old houses in this UNESCO World Heritage site holds many secrets. This ghost tour is based on stories and real experiences shared by locals. In which house do the furniture mysteriously move by themselves? Where can you hear footsteps and knocking sounds?
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and covers about 1,5 kilometers. Children cannot participate alone, they must be accompanied by an adult. The tour is designed for children aged approximately 7–12, but everyone is welcome to join.
Maximum group size is 30 participants.

14.30 Lace making competition
In the traditional Bobbin Lace Making competition, participants lace for the usual half hour using six pairs of Udd bobbins. You can bring your own pillow or borrow a pillow at the event. Borrowed pillows are available in limited numbers. Mynster can be obtained for your own pillow at the competition venue. Competitors are requested to arrive about half an hour before the start of the competition. Pre-registration by email to sihteeri@emelia.fi is recommended. If possible, participation without registration is also allowed.

Lively atmosphere, the accordion’s rhythm, and straightforward playing have made Komiat popular. The band’s gigs are known for their joyful atmosphere, which draws the listener in and gets people dancing! The band is familiar to many from their radio hits Kaihosielu, Minähän vien, Pakka sekaisin, and Kaksin olis kauniimpaa. The first studio album was released in 2020, and since then the band has consistently released new music.
