TFW Hurricane has been specifically developed for the physical training of the world’s best martial artists and mixed martial artists. Later, thousands of top athletes from various sports have benefited from it, and it has been found to also be suitable for the average fitness enthusiast. TFW Hurricane is an excellent workout if your goal is to burn fat, increase muscle strength and endurance, and develop mental toughness. The classes make versatile use of kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, battle ropes, and bodyweight exercises combined with agility and running exercises. Age limit 16.

10.00– Lace Week open yards and yard sales
Several residents of Old Rauma will open their yards to the visitors during Lace Week. The residents will hold yard sales or allow visitors to explore their yards and the livelihood in Old Rauma.
Yards open for visitors can be identified on the spot by the logo of the Old Rauma Association.
NOTE! The yards are open according to the resident’s schedule, usually starting at 10.00.

During Lace Week you have an opportunity to see Rauma bobbin lace being made daily at Marela and Kirsti. At Marela, the lace-maker is indoors. At Kirsti, on clear days, the lace-maker is in the courtyard, where you can visit free of charge. Otherwise there is admission fee.

In the walk-in crafting workshop at the Rauma Art Museum, you can craft a summery fan! The workshop is held in the art museum’s workshop space. The activity can be adapted according to age. Children under school age must be accompanied by their own adult.

🐞11.00–17.00 Explore maritime professions! -orienteering for children
The sea offers a variety of jobs, and at the orienteering checkpoints, five maritime professions are presented: pilot, fisherman, chief engineer, ship cook, and captain. The guide booklet explains the professions, and at the checkpoints, playful tasks are carried out that in some way relate to the profession shown.
Orienteering is included in the admission fee of 5 €. Children under 12 for free with an adult.

11.00–14.00. Traditional Rauma dishes—lapskoussi and topseilvellinki—will be on sale, served with pancakes and malt bread, in the courtyard of Rauma Church and the Parish Hall. Also available for takeout, packed in containers.
After 14.00 items for sale will include Karelian pies, sweet pies, strawberry tarts, and Rauma cookies.

The event opens with a family-friendly mini-play, The Growling Rabbit . The play is non-verbal, making it perfect for international visitors and the hearing impaired.
After the play, meet Luna and Rebecca, the newest llama residents of Old Rauma. The event also features Kyllikki Salo’s art installation Me Too and a courtyard flea market. Refreshments and llama-themed cookies will be available for purchase. Duration of the event approximately 1 hour.

12.00 Midday music moment – Male quartet
In the Tuesday music session, a male vocal quartet from Rauma will perform, consisting of Jani Järvi, Pekka Lankinen, Hannu Lehtinen, and Veli-Matti Vainionpää. Mezzo-soprano Saara Kukko will also perform as an accompanist with the quartet in the music session.

Come and spend a happy summer day with the whole family at Blacksmith’s Home! Traditional summer exhibition by the Kodisjoki Martha Organization is on display, which highlights headwear and accessories throughout the decades.
The event is free and does not require pre-registration. The facility is not accessible.

🐞 13.00 The magical sailing of the ship dog – guided tour (FIN)
The guided tour is based on Margaret Wise Brown’s original work The Sailor Dog (1953, republished in 1981). The book was published in Finnish as Laivakoira, translated by Marjatta Kurenniemi, as part of the Tammen kultaiset kirjat series. Garth Williams’ colorful illustrations take the dog Turre along to a sailing ship, a shipwreck, a distant island, and finally happily back home.
The guidance is for children aged 3-6 years. A maximum of 20 children/group. The duration of the guidance is 30-45 minutes depending on the size of the group.
Guided tours are included in the museum’s 5 € admission fee. If a child must be accompanied, the adult taking care of them can join the tour free of charge. If they stay in the museum after the tour, the adult must pay for their own ticket at the museum’s cashier.

Dancer Iida Paukamainen and composer-songwriter René Koivisto will perform at Lace Week with their duo performance.
The duo leaves at 14:00 from the Nyplääjä statue to wander the streets and alleys of Old Rauma. You can join the tour at any stage. The event is subject to weather conditions.

15.00 SAKKO: Drainage basin
A work combining contemporary dance and installation art about power and water. The water flowing in the drainage basin comes mainly from rain, but also includes meltwater from the previous winter, water from melting glaciers, and springs formed from groundwater.
The installation is open to the public at 12.00–18.00. As part of the work, performances are held daily at 15.00, lasting approximately 30 min.
The artwork is being created by the artist duo Alina and Elisa Sakko.

🐞16.00 Old Rauma Ghost Tour for children (FIN)
Welcome to a child-friendly Ghost Tour of Old Rauma, where you’ll hear thrilling ghost stories! Finland’s third oldest town, with centuries-old houses in this UNESCO World Heritage site holds many secrets. This ghost tour is based on stories and real experiences shared by locals. In which house do the furniture mysteriously move by themselves? Where can you hear footsteps and knocking sounds?
The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and covers about 1,5 kilometers. Children cannot participate alone, they must be accompanied by an adult. The tour is designed for children aged approximately 7–12, but everyone is welcome to join.
Maximum group size is 30 participants.
