Alfred Kordelin Chapel

The Kordelin Chapel in Rauma’s old cemetery was built and donated to the parish by Alfred Kordelin’s family. The grave and monument of Alfred Kordelin, a farming councillor, is in the basement of the chapel. The chapel was designed by architect Lars Sonck and completed in 1921.

Blacksmith’s home
Open throughout the Lace Week 12.00–16.00
Blacksmith’s home is the former residence of the blacksmith Isak Grundström (1842–1921) and his family. A wide range of artefacts are on display, from musical instruments hanging on the wall of the barn to household items and craft supplies.

Kiikartorni observation tower

Head to the shore of Syväraumanlahti and explore the area from above! The lookout tower called Kiikartorni offers stunning views of the sea and the small boat harbor of Syväraumanlahti.

Kodisjoki Church

Kodisjoki church was built in 1906 and its designer and draftsman was Johan F. Lindegren, an organist from Rauma. The church is a bright and peaceful, atmospheric country church, where there is an opportunity for silence.

Lappi Regional Museum
Open during the Lace Week on Sundays 10.00–15.00
The Rauma Lappi Regional Museum is located in Museomäki and consists of several historical sites, such as a storehouse, church stables, Jokinen house and Eskelä fence. The museum’s collection includes a wide range of cultural heritage, for exaple agricultural equipment, household goods and wartime items. The museum also has a café open.

Lappi Church

Lappi Church in Rauma is one of the oldest wooden churches in Satakunta. It was completed in 1760. The belfry was built together with the church on the edge of the cemetery’s stone fence, but was moved to a hill in the early 19th century.

Lönnström Art Museum: Teresia and Rafael Lönnström’s Home museum
Open during the Lace Week

The atmospheric home museum of the industrialist couple Teresia and Rafael Lönnström combines the elegance and cosiness of a stately home. The home was completed in 1942 in the maritime landscape of Syväraumanlahti. The museum displays Teresia Lönnström’s art collection as well as domestic objects such as a dressing table.
On the second floor of the museum is the exhibition Teresia 130 years – life as a craftswoman and patroness. The exhibition tells the story of how a fashion student who dreamed of Paris became a metal-working entrepreneur and an important patron of the arts in Rauma.

Lönnström Art Museum: Conversation park
Conversation park – a public space game is a work of community art that was created by 21 Rauma residents of different ages. In the project, they planned and built a public park. Conversation park is a public space that everyone is free to visit. Enjoy the scenery, have a barbeque around an open fire or participate in a hobby horse race.

Lönnström Art Museum: Floating Island
Raimo Saarinen’s Floating Island is a large environmental artwork sited at sea. Floating Island is anchored in the Otanlahti bay. The work can be viewed from many places along the bay and its beaches, and is closest to the shore between the Fåfänga Pavilion and Merikylpylä saunas.

Sailor’s home museum Kirsti

Kirsti is a home museum for sailors and craftsmen, showcasing life in Old Rauma from the late 19th century to the 1970s. The main building in the atmospheric courtyard is one of the oldest buildings in Old Rauma. It was built as early as the 1700s. The whole town of Rauma in the early 19th century looked like Kirsti does today.
Opportunity to see lace-making daily 10.00-17.00.

Shipowner´s home museum Marela
Open throughout Lace Week 10.00–17.00, Fri 25.7. 10.00–19.00
Marela presents the living and lifestyle of a wealthy Rauma shipowner family during the heyday of Rauma’s sailing ship maritime in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
There are also temporary exhibitions. The Story of Rauma Lace tells the story of Rauma’s lace-making history and the present day. The exhibition Let’s Have a Wedding! presents wedding memories, traditions and treasures from the museum’s collections. The Gentlemen’s amusements exhibition presents the cultural history of tobacco.
You can also see Rauma lace being made daily. From the Museum Shop Kistupuadi, you can find local handicrafts and souvenirs.

Merimakasiini

Merimakasiini displays maritime history of Rauma region as well as traditional boats carved by local carvers. Seamen’s crafts and knot-works for sale.

Muina Homestead Museum

At the Muina Homestead Museum, you can experience the atmosphere of a peasant’s farmyard in a genuine rural setting. The museum’s collections include 1,800 objects from the 19th and early 20th centuries. The museum has a maritime exhibition where you can visit.

Potter’s Workshop (Savenvalajan verstas)
Open throughout the Lace Week 11.00–15.00
At the workshop of potter Gustaf Löfman you can learn about the pottery tradition in Rauma. Löfman’s workshop was in operation from the end of the 19th century until the 1930s. The workshop produced brown oven coils, vats and small decorative objects. The rooms in the Savenvalaja dwelling are decorated in the style of the first half of the 20th century.

Rauma Art Museum

Upstairs at the Rauma Art Museum, a collection of gems has been assembled under the title The Heart of Pinnala. From around 3,500 works, 60 works by 60 artists have been selected. The oldest works date back to the 19th century, while the newest was completed and acquired last year. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, prints, drawings and one video work. Numerous stories and imaginative images.
In its third year in Rauma, the Rauma Triennale 2025 will present a diverse range of artists and their artistic work around the themes of effort and effort. Part of the Rauma Triennale 2025 exhibition will take place in the Art Space Muijala in the village of Reila.

Rauma Maritime Museum
Open throughout the Lace Week 11.00–17.00
The Rauma Maritime Museum is a special museum that tells the story of a medieval town’s lifeblood: the sea and shipping.
The main exhibition presents the ships, stories and atmosphere of the sailing ship era and the life of a sailor. The themed exhibition “Rauma, the maritime city” offers a diverse collection of examples of how the image of Rauma’s maritime character – and uniqueness – has been built up and maintained. The exhibition showcases on the second floor staircase of the museum contain compact instructions on how to find traces of the past in various archival sources and databases. On the same floor is the entrance to the tower exhibition space, which opens a window onto the world of merchant shipping in the 1960s and 1970s.
During the lace week, you can pick up a task sheet from the Museum’s cashier to take with you to the exhibition if you wish. There will be a sweet prize for those who return the completed sheet to the museum cashier!

Rauma Seminar Garden
Open throughout the Lace Week
The Seminaari Garden on the University of Turku’s Rauma campus is a great place to visit for anyone interested in plants! Horticultural education was first included in the teacher training curriculum in 1912, and the garden is still actively used by several schools and educational institutions in Rauma. The garden contains hundreds of flowers, plants, trees and shrubs. The collection plant room contains about 150 species. The garden also offers the possibility to go on excursions; to study plants, watch birds or even have a picnic.
The Seminar Garden of the University of Turku’s Rauma campus is a great place to visit for anyone interested in plants! The garden was first included in the teacher training curriculum in 1912 and is still actively used by several schools and educational institutions in Rauma. The garden contains hundreds of flowers, plants, trees and shrubs. The collection plant room contains around 150 species. The garden also offers the possibility to go on excursions; to study plants, watch birds or even have a picnic.
The gardeners are on duty from Mon 21.7. – Fri 25.7 at 8.00–14.30. When the garden door is open, you can also enter the greenhouses.

Renovation Centre Tammela
Open throughout the Lace Week 11.00–17.00, closed on Mondays
Tammela house introduces UNESCO World Heritage and renovation of Old Rauma. Tammela organises events regarding world heritage and traditional construction, and houses different cultural events. A bank of spare parts, where spare parts for old timber buildings are recycled, is a part of the house of Tammela.

Sammallahdenmäki, UNESCO World Heritage Site
The Bronze Age burial cairn field in Lappi Kivikylä, is the largest and most diverse cemetery of the Scandinavian Bronze Age in the coastal area of the Gulf of Bothnia. The area contains 36 burial cairns and was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.

The Church of the Holy Cross

The Church of the Holy Cross is a medieval stone church, the oldest parts of which date back to the 16th century. What makes the stone church in the World Heritage Site so special is that it is the only one of the three remaining Franciscan churches in Finland. The church is full of history, and you can stop by for a moment of silence and exploration while it is open.

The Old Rauma Telephone Museum

The museum tells the history of telephones with its collection from its origins in the 1870s to the present day. The museum displays devices and equipment from 1870 to the present day.

Ylen Art House
Open throughout the Lace Week 12.00–16.00
Art House Ylen is located in Rauma, in a village called Kodisjoki. This art house was the residence of ITE-artist Väinö (1908-2000) Ylen and his wife Hilma (1911-1991). The exhibition features human and animal figures made of plaster and concrete by Väinö Ylen engaged in various everyday activities (approximately 500 sculptures).
The guest artists for Summer 2025 are Maria Leppänen, Jenny Vuorela, Eila Samaletdin and Ulla Kivimäki.
There will also be a café with refreshments for visitors.
Admission to the museum is 6 € for adults, 3 € for children.
