Flowers pots at Kuninkaankatu.

New colorful flower pots will be brought to Old Rauma to brighten the street area and guide traffic during the pedestrian street season. The large flower pots will be placed on Monday, July 1st, and they will replace the old pots previously brought. Mostly annual summer flowers have been planted in the pots.

– The new pots were supposed to be displayed right at the beginning of the pedestrian street season, but their delivery was delayed by a week. We are still waiting for the delivery of the largest pots, but they should arrive soon, says city gardener Mari Pohjalainen.

The flower containers also serve their primary purpose by marking and drawing attention to the boundaries of the pedestrian street area. This year, they particularly aim to highlight the section of Kuninkaankatu between Isokirkkokatu and Vähäkirkkokatu, known as the area in front of Café Sali, which is an expanded pedestrian street area this year. The parking lot at the market square and the exit from there will be accessed from Vähäkirkkokatu, in front of the Everest Himal restaurant.
