Kipparinpuisto playground and Traffic Park – The Chillest Summer Routes Are Right Here!


The Most Fun Summer Adventures Await You at the Charming Duo of Kipparinpuisto and Traffic Park! These side-by-side parks are a dream come true for kids – full of joy, movement, and play from morning till evening.
Both parks welcome visitors of all ages to enjoy free play and activities all day long. Kipparinpuisto also offers a guided Poijukerho club from June 3 to August 5, 2025. Poijukerho is designed for children aged 4–9 and takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 PM to 3 PM. Registration is required for each session and can be done by calling +358 44 793 5145. The club is in Finnish.
In addition to Poijukerho, Kipparinpuisto hosts family park activities for families with young children, also in Finnish, from June 2 to August 6, 2025:
- Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 1 PM
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 AM to 12 PM
And when you feel like cruising around, it’s time to head to the neighboring Traffic Park! You’re welcome to bring your own ride, but no worries if you didn’t – the park provides pedal cars, bikes, scooters, and other fun vehicles free to use:

You can swim year-round in Rauma!
In Rauma, you can enjoy swimming in every season. Our diverse city offers the chance to take a dip in lakes, the sea, or at the indoor swimming pool! During the summer months, you’ll also find public beach saunas where you can relax for a small fee.
The most popular destinations, such as Outdoor swimming pool Makis, Saharanta beach and Bergström pond, are all within a short distance from the centre. Common EU beaches in Rauma include Saharanta beach, Bergström pond, Otanlahti beach and Lappi lakeside sauna Puusaun.
You can experience winter swimming near the city center in public saunas located by the sea. Marine Cafe & Sauna, located in Petäjäs, and Marina Vista, situated in Syväraumanlahti, offer this unique experience. The Lappi beach sauna Puusaun is open nearly every day year-round and is located on the shores of Lake Narvijärvi.

Summer day + Makis = the perfect combo!
At Rauma’s legendary outdoor swimming pool Makis, summer days take on a whole new meaning! This family-friendly oasis offers refreshing water fun, laid-back lounging, and the joy of movement – all under the open sky, right by the sea.
At Makis, you can:
– Swim, sauna, and splash in the pool, with space for swimmers of all ages and levels
– Enjoy tasty treats at Makis Beach Bar & Terrace

– Join a water aerobics class or a fun play session for kids
– Experience the magical adults-only night swims on Saturdays from 9:30 PM to 1 AM (June 28 – August 2)
New in summer 2025: Every Saturday, from June 7 to August 2, kids can join a Play Hour (9:15–10:15 AM) filled with water aerobics, fun group games, water toys, music – and juice, too!

Museum tour with children



Rauma’s fascinating museums are great destinations to explore with children. How about steering an ocean-going vessel in a simulator? At the Rauma Maritime Museum, you can do just that! You’ll also get to meet the deep-sea diver Wikholm – and even try on his shoes.
At Marela, the shipowner’s home located in Old Rauma, you can step into life in Rauma at the beginning 20th century and see how people lived back then. Can you guess which item at Marela was the very first of its kind in Rauma? Here’s a hint: these days, you’ll find one in every home!

Experience nature with kids
Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors. Rauma offers a wide variety of hiking and nature trails, with something for everyone. You’ll find both long and short routes, ranging from easy walks to more challenging hikes. Many trails feature barbecue spots and interesting information boards that share facts about local wildlife and plants.
Rauma’s hiking and nature trails can be conveniently found on the Outdooractive trail app. You can download the app from your phone’s app store or use the website in your browser. With Outdooractive, you can track your location via GPS, so you won’t get lost!
Tourist islands
Spend a nice day on the tourist islands of Rauma! The popular island destinations Kylmäpihlaja lighthouse island, Kuuskajaskari fortress island and the nature islands of Reksaari and Nurmes offer families with children a real sea experience. The nature and paths of Reksaari, Nurmes and Kuuskajaskari are suitable for pleasant nature excursions for the whole family. At Kylmäpihlaja, the bravest can climb to the top of the lighthouse to gaze at the open sea.
Kylmäpihlaja and Kuuskajaskari can be reached not only by boat, but also by a regular service. Reksaari and Nurmes can be reached by private boat and boat taxi. The most adventurous can also get to Reksaari by hiking the Omenapuuma nature trail and rowing a short distance from the mainland to Reksaari in a rowing boat.
Climb to Kiikartorni to admire the sea views!
The observation tower Kiikartorni (Suvitie 10) in Syvärauman Bay is a children’s favourite! The tower stands 63 metres high and on a fine day you can see far out to sea.
The tower is open until September 30, 2025. Tower is open from 10 am to 9 pm. The tower has no entrance fee. Not accessible.
