Public beaches in Rauma

Saharanta beach.

Saharannan uimaranta

Saharanta Beach is located right by the sea, next to the Syväraumanlahti marina. This sandy beach features a gently sloping shoreline and a good sandy bottom, making it ideal for swimming.

The beach has changing rooms and toilets, generally open from June 1st to August 31st weekdays from 8 AM to 9 PM and weekends from 9 AM to 5 PM. Opening hours are subject to change.

Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Parking is available right next to the beach.

Bergström pond “Pärskä”

Bergström Pond – or “Pärskä,” as locals call it – is located next to the Kourujärvi sports area. The beach area has been developed with sand, and the pond itself is deep with a mixed mud-sand bottom. For children, a shallow swimming area is marked off with buoys. About ten meters from the pier, you’ll find a floating platform with a diving tower.

The beach is equipped with toilets, changing rooms, trash bins, playground equipment, and a pier.

Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Lappi Beach

Lappi Beach is located on the shore of Lake Narvijärvi in the Lappi village of Rauma. The beach has a gently sloping shoreline with a sandy bottom, though some aquatic vegetation is present in parts.

Please note that the public beach area is on the right-hand side when viewed from the shore. The left-hand side is managed by the beach sauna operator. A small shed at the beach serves as a changing room, and a toilet is available across the road.

The beach features the public sauna called Puusaun (puusaun.com), which is open year-round. The sauna and it’s facilities have an entrance fee. There’s also a café on-site. During the winter season, ice swimming is offered at the sauna.

Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Otanlahti beach

Otanlahti Beach is located in the Fåfänga recreational area.
Nearby you’ll find Poroholma Holiday Centre, Poroholma Beach House, the outdoor swimming pool Makis, and a summer theatre.

The bay is shallow with a sandy bottom, making it ideal for a relaxed swim. The paid changing rooms, toilets, and showers of the adjacent outdoor pool are located right next to the beach.

Additional facilities at the beach include fitness equipment, as well as beach volleyball and beach football courts.

Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty at the beach.

Rauma’s Outdoor Swimming pool Makis

At Makis, you can:
– Swim, sauna, and splash in the pool, with space for swimmers of all ages and levels
– Enjoy tasty treats at Makis Beach Bar & Terrace
– Play a round of mini golf
– Join a water aerobics class or a fun play session for kids
– Experience the magical adults-only night swims on Saturdays from 9:30 PM to 1 AM (June 28 – August 2)

New in summer 2025: Every Saturday, from June 7 to August 2, kids can join a Play Hour (9:15–10:15 AM) filled with water aerobics, fun group games, water toys, music – and juice, too!

Rauma’s swimming hall in Karin Kampus

For fitness swimmers, there’s a 25-meter lap pool, while water aerobics enthusiasts can enjoy the multi-purpose pool. Families with children will love the warm wading pool and the children’s pool with fun water toys. Older kids and the young at heart can race down the exciting 50-meter waterslide—with a timer! Compete against yourself or your friends to see who’s the fastest!

For those seeking relaxation, the multi-purpose pool features massage jets, and there are also a jacuzzi and a cold plunge pool. The sauna facilities include both a traditional Finnish sauna and a steam sauna.

The swimming hall is also home to a versatile gym, offering the perfect opportunity to combine water exercise with strength training. Note: The gym is currently closed as is the swimming hall.
