Peek into life in Old Rauma during Lace Week – open courtyards and yard sales await!
News

During Lace Week, held from July 19th to 27th, the residents of Old Rauma open their courtyards to visitors. Locals organize flea markets and offer the public a unique opportunity to explore the courtyards of the wooden town and experience everyday life in Old Rauma. The popular event is organized for the 20th time by the Vanha Rauma Association.
You are welcome to visit when a gate is open and the Vanha Rauma Association’s sign is visible. Opening hours vary according to each resident’s schedule, and the number of participating courtyards may change daily, as participation is voluntary.
Typically, 30 to 40 open courtyards take part in the event, and it’s estimated that the courtyards receive a total of around 70,000 to 80,000 visits annually.
A map (PDF) featuring 35 open courtyards and yard flea markets is available, including also courtyards opened by local artists.
