The summer courtyard of the Rauma Art Museum comes to life in the beginning of July, when the culture café Brummi’s summer café Laura opens in the art museum’s old bakery on Friday the 2nd of July.

Brummi’s summer café spreads out in a picnic-like way throughout the art museum’s beautiful courtyard and garden. The summer café Laura is open during the opening hours of the art museum, mainly from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Brummi also offers a set of events and concerts. During the opening weekend on Sunday the 4th of July, Timo Brass Band will be in charge of music at Laura’s official opening. Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the entrance or in advance from Brummi’s online store (brummi.maksutin.fi). The summer café Laura and the art museum’s summer yard are normally open during the day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the evening’s concert starts at 7 p.m.

July is full of events, as the program of the Rauma Lace Week (pitsiviikko.fi/en) spreads out to the art museum’s courtyard with its evening concerts from the 17th of July to the 25th of July. In August, the program of the summer café Laura will be further complemented. Edu Kettunen, Mika Kuokkanen and Iikles, among others, will be performing in the courtyard of the art museum on Sunday the 1st of August.

In addition to the summer café, Laura Hynninen’s exhibition Dreams or Echoes, which depicts nocturnal experiences, opens in the art museum’s old bakery and workshop. Hynninen is also one of the artists of Rauma Festivo 2021, and the summer café Laura is named after the artist herself. The exhibition will be on display until the 8th of August.
