Museums will open in the beginning of June

Museums in Rauma open their doors in the beginning of June. A lot of work is being done in the museums to make the visit safe. The situation is constantly monitored and opening hours may change rapidly. It is important to check the opening hours from museum’s website before the visit.

Rauma Maritime Museum open on Monday 1.6. In summer time the museum will be open every day from 11.00 to 17.00.

It is possible to visit Teresia and Rafael Lönnström Home Museum again from 6.6. forward. In June the museum is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12.00 to 16.00.

Exhibitions of Rauma Art Museum open on Tuesday 2.6. and they are on display until 9.8. Exhibitions “The Closed-down Village” by Hanna Koikkalaine and “Kannas (The Isthmus)” by Hanneriina Moisseinen are also available online www.poikkeustila-39-44.fi.

Old Town Hall Museum, Shipowner’s Home Museum Marela and Sailor’s Home Museum Kirsti are waiting for visitors. Old Town Hall Museum open on Monday 1.6., Marela and Kirsti on Tuesday 2.6. Museums have two new exhibitions. The Old Town Hall Museum’s exhibition “Old Town Hall 100 years ago” displays the museum’s exhibition activities from around 100 years ago. The first museum exhibit at the Old Town Hall opened in 1904. In Marela exhibition “From Thella’s era to modern day Lace Week” showcases Rauma bobbin lace from the early 1900s until the late 1960s.
