Finnish contemporary folk art (ITE art) in Rauma Art Museum in summer 2023 

Curators Raija Kallioinen, Heta Kaisto, Helka Ketonen and Elina Vuorimies of Rauma Art Museum exhibition Bird and fish.

The summer exhibition in Rauma Art Museum highlights the classics and new talents of contemporary folk art. Group exhibition ”Bird and Fish!” celebrates curiosity, rebelliousness, sensitivity, joy and vulnerability and ponders socially sustainable development in art world. In addition to the main exhibition spaces of the Rauma Art Museum, the courtyard and the courtyard buildings are also in use.

The exhibition is open from 10th of June to 24th of September 2023.

ITE art is Finnish visual contemporary folk art. The artists are self-taught, which means that they do not have a formal art education. ITE art is mainly made and displayed outside the art world, in its creator’s everyday environment.

The artists of the exhibition are announced in March 2023.
