City train journeys in the city and a guide is present at Sammallahdenmäki – July kicks off the culture summer of Rauma

Come ride with the city train Kake and enjoy the views of Old Rauma and the beach of Otanlahti! The city train starts its daily public traffic on Monday 3.7. Kake travels regularly on 3.7.-13.8, and it follows the same route than on previous years. Adults 5€/round ticket and children 4€/round ticket. In July a guide is present at Sammallahdenmäki during 3.7.-31.7, from Monday to Friday at 11-17 (2 €/person). There is also a bus transportation from the city centre of Rauma to Sammallahdenmäki (and a guided tour in Finnish) on Thursdays between 6.7.-31.8. Departure at 13.00 nearby Rantatalo in Poroholma holiday centre (Suvitie) and at 13.10 from Rauma bus station charter bay (Tehtaankatu 5). Return to the city centre is always at 15.30 the latest. The price of the excursion is 10 €/person, the payment should be payed on the bus.

Many other culture events of the summer start on the first week of July as well. Jo-Jo theater performs a play for the whole family, called Kolme iloista rosvoa, at the fortress island of Kuuskajaskari. The premiere is on 2.7, and other showing times are during 4.7.-13.8. During July the museums of Rauma; the Old Town Hall, Marela and Kirsti will all be open on Mondays as well. You can visit the museums during 1.-31.7. every day, at 10-17. There are also two new exhibitions opening at the Taitokeskus of Rauma (Lensunkatu 4), called Venla Tanner: Dollhouse room box and other works, and Macrame Lace. The exhibitions are open all through July. The art exhibition of Inspira ry at Nokan torppa, and an exhibition of Teresia Lönnström’s art purchases at the Lönnström museum also open at the beginning of July.
