Blue Sea Film Festival in Rauma August 17–20

The 30th Blue Sea Film Festival will gather the brightest stars of the film industry in Rauma from the 17th to the 20th of August.

Among other things, the program will include films from this year’s theme country Germany, films from each of the Nordic countries, domestic filmmakers as guests, Baltic Herring short films, silent accompaniment by the Rauma Jazz Film Orchestra, discussions and all kinds of evening program.

In addition, a celebration exhibition for the events 30-year-old history will be held at Seppä’s house (Alfredinkatu 3), the opening of which will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16 at 6 pm. The exhibition is open during the festival from Thursday to Sunday from 2 pm to 6 pm.

The 30-year journey of the film festival has also been made into a book, Blue Sea Film Festival – Ensimmäiset 30 vuotta 1994–2023, which is published at the opening of the festival on August 18. Visual artist, student of media studies, Milla Hannula compiled a great history from the archives of the blue sea film festival. This work dives into the heart of Rauma’s event production, where the desire to do and love for the industry pulsate. The book has stories from over the years and is a real guide to the world of the blue sea film festival.
